Used Petrol hatchback cars in India under 4 lakhs

This article is helpful if you are looking to buy a used car which gives value to your money, and does not compromise in power.

The used car market is very competitive and has many choices. There are so many risks involved and only a gamble. If you spend time in research and follow a thorough inspection, it is possible to score a decent vehicle that is reliable and yet meets your needs.

In this article, we have listed the top 7 petrol cars which are often available under 4 lacs depending upon the condition and the year of registration.

*Note: The order of the vehicle is completely random, no 1 car does not mean it is superior in the list and vice versa.

  1. Hyundai i10 BSIV

Hyundai’s mid-level compact SUV is powered by 4 cylinders 4 valve engine, which is very snappy and never lets you feel underpowered. Feature-rich interiors and spacious cabin space are comfortable for a small family of 4 who are looking to buy their first car.

You can get a BS4 variant of i10 in the used car market from 4 to 5 lakhs, it depends upon the variant and the mileage of the car. Do a thorough inspection of interiors and exteriors. Looks can be deceptive sometimes and a good-looking car might have a bad engine and vice versa.

2. Maruti Ritz

Maruti has launched Ritz along with his twin sibling Swift into the fleet. Both the cars share the same 1197 Engine which produces good low-end torque and power. Wish Maruti should have upgraded it to VVT technology increases power and returns decent mileage.

3. Honda Brio

Cutest and most handsome car on the list. Don’t make it looks deceive you as it is powered by a 1197 cc natural aspirated engine which delivers 87 bhp @ 6000 rpm. The downside of the vehicle is the part’s availability. Honda has long discontinued this car and never discussed the relaunch of this vehicle. You can score this decent look car below 4 lakhs in good condition.

4. VW Polo

The only German car on the list which is known for its build quality and safety. It is powered by 3 cylinder engine with 4 valves and produces 73.9bhp at 5400rpm. Mileage is the only concern as it returns less than 12 kmpl in the city and 14 kmpl on highways. You can score a decent-condition car below 3.5 lakhs for a BS4 variant.

5. Maruti Swift

Maruti’s hot hatch has turned so many heads around during its launch. With its sporty looks and snappy VVT engine which produces 82 bhp at 6000 rpm may sound a little underpowered compared to Ritz, however with its Variable Value Transmission, it has a decent initial pickup and low-end torque of 113 Nm@ at 4200 rpm gives it a better edge to its twin sibling.
